From seeing varsity time in the eighth grade to becoming one of the top linemen in Louisiana for the Class of 2022 hasn’t been easy but it has been worth it.
Three-star offensive and defensive lineman Fitzgerald West, of Lafayette Christian Academy, made his commitment to the Tiger of LSU on Saturday.

First time Fitzgerald West stepped on a camp field back in 2018 everyone knew he could develop into something special. The 8th grader from Lafayette Christian Academy had already seen varsity time as an 8th grader. During the NUC Elite camp he dominated his opponents at nose guard.
Going in to his junior year West began to see time on the offensive line and at LSU’s OL/DL camp in early June he dominated at center. His outstanding camp performance caught the eye of Head Coach Ed Orgeron and it earned him an offer from the LSU Tigers.
