Many’s Tackett Curtis is the Louisiana Sports Writers Association – Mr. Football
The USC signee has already left to enroll in classes at USC but one more honor back home will be waiting for him when he returns on his next visit. Many’s Tackett Curtis made school history by receiving the highest honor awarded by the Louisiana Sports Writers Association — Mr. Football.
The 6-foot-3, 220-pound linebacker is the first Many athlete to receive the designation since the LSWA began giving the award out in 1995. He joins a stellar list of previous honorees including Leonard Fournette, Ryan Perrilloux, Brock Berlin and Derek Stingley. He’s the second Mr. Football to choose USC joining John Curtis running back Joe McKnight in 2006.
Curtis led the Tigers to four consecutive trips to the LHSAA championship game in their division. Many won the Class 2A title in 2020 at Northwestern’s Turpin Stadium and capped his career by winning the Non-Select Division III title this past December in the Caesar’s Superdome in New Orleans.
