Rocket launching is something you expect with spaceship’s being launched into orbit, but there is another type of rocket launching that is happening in Erath, LA.
Meet Erath’s rocket launching sophomore quarterback Lynkon Romero. At 6’3″ 195, Romero has the size and arm strength to launch the long ball with precision and accuracy. His talent has already caught the attention of in state coaches as well as many top college programs out of state.
Besides having a strong arm and long ball throwing ability, Romero also can hit the short and mid range passes like a dart to the bullseye on a dart board. He is a mobile treat that will tuck the ball and pick up much needed yardage to extend plays and gain first downs. His ability to move in the pocket, as well as, step up to deliver the pass to the open receiver creates a very well rounded skill set. Not to mention he scans the field like a Hawk working through progressions and finding his open receivers.
The sophomore quarterback is climbing up the statistical charts in Louisiana. As of Week 6 of the 2021 season, Romero had thrown for almost 1400 yards and 15 touchdowns.

Romero: Corner and seam routes
R/L: What have you learned from playing football?
Romero: I’ve learned how to be a good teammate and always stay positive.
R/L: Who inspires you? Why?
Romero: My coaches inspire me to be the best player and teammate possible. They believe in me. There is a lot of trust.
R/L: What attributes do you possess that make you a good teammate? What strengths do you possess that would make you a good college athlete?
Romero: I am a team leader and very team oriented. I have a Win first mentality. I also work hard everyday and take no days off.
Student of the Game and in the Classroom, Romero has maintained a 4.0 GPA throughout his high school career at Erath.
Pre and Post Season Awards/Accolades: 2020: 2nd Team All District as a Freshman (3 Starts for 55 Yards passing, 5 TDs), 2021: As of Week 6: No. 6 quarterback in passing yards in Louisiana, Honors Student, Testing: 40 Yard Dash: 4.8 Vertical: 27 Clean (lbs): 205
